Research fueled by the Azrieli Precision Child Health Platform
Welcome
The Precision Child Health Partnership (PCHP) brings together two of Canada’s leading pediatric research hospitals—SickKids and CHU Sainte-Justine—in a bold, collaborative effort to transform the future of child health. Rooted in a shared commitment to innovation, patient family partnership, and scientific excellence, this partnership is pioneering a new era of individualized care.
By combining our strengths in genomics, advanced therapeutics, and data science, we aim to close the gaps in understanding the root causes of childhood disease and deliver precision-based treatments tailored to each child’s unique biology, environment and lived experience.
Together, we are building a blueprint for Precision Child Health that will shape care not only within our institutions, but across Canada and beyond.

What is Precision Child Health?
Precision child health is a holistic approach that is transforming how we care for children and youth. It relies on cutting-edge technologies, the latest scientific and medical advances, and genuine engagement with children and their families to better understand their lifestyles and environments. This approach enables us to deliver more individualized, effective care and gives every child the best chance to live life to their fullest potential.
Building the future
Through the Precision Health for Children Partnership, SickKids and CHU Sainte-Justine are combining their strengths to achieve more together than either could alone. Our approach to driving discovery is multi-faceted, encompassing collaborative institutional initiatives, targeted granting programs, and robust scholars and training programs.
At every step, patients and families are at the heart of our work, ensuring that our efforts remain grounded in their lived experiences. Together, we are building a sustainable, scalable model for Precision Child Health—one that is inclusive, patient-centered, and truly transformative.
Three strategic areas of focus:
- Genomics
Expand the clinical utility of genomic and multi-omics (epigenome, transcriptome, proteome, metabolite) to uncover the biological roots of disease, enabling earlier diagnoses and more precise, personalized interventions for every child.
- Therapy
Developing novel therapies that are precisely tailored to each child’s unique biology, enabling safer, more effective treatments that address the root causes of disease.
- Data
Using integrated data to accelerate discoveries and improve care.
